As we close out this year, we would like to invite you to prayerfully consider giving generously toward our year-end giving goal of $338,000. Through prayerful discernment and the guidance of our financial advisory team, our goal is comprised of two parts:
  • $328,000 for December giving, to meet our 2025 Budget.
  • $10,000 for the Evangelical Covenant Church/Serve Globally. We desire to help care for the most vulnerable while providing the most powerful resource–the Bible–where it is most limited. To that end:
    • $5K to provide over 330 Bibles in local languages where access to Scripture is limited.
    • $5K to help alleviate severe childhood malnutrition in the DR Congo by providing food, medicine, and training of health workers in Malnutrition Centers in Karawa and Loko.

UPCOMING Teaching Series

God’s heart is for the lost and Jesus asks if you will do the same.

This series kicks off our year of Deep and Wide, with this series explaining God’s heart for lost people. These three stories appear successively, stacked upon each other, to create a robust picture of God’s care for lost people. Preachers in this series will have to work hard to draw distinctions between these three stories, drawing out what is unique about each story, and each lost item or person.

This series proposes a structure where week 1 is focused on those who have wandered away, unintentionally. Temptation got the best of them, until they found themselves further from God than they ever expected. Week 2 is focused on those who were lost due to unintended circumstances (think church hurt, betrayal). Week 3 focuses on those who have actively rejected God, running from him as far as they could, but find that God still patiently waits for them. Our final week focuses on our willingness to accept lost people, despite the messiness that it often brings.

The context of Luke 15 is pretty simple: Jesus is sharing a table with sinners, and is facing criticism from the religious leaders for extending table fellowship and friendship to them. Jesus' stories seek to explain why he fellowships with lost people (he has come to seek and save the lost), and also the incredible value of each and every person. Jesus is presenting to the Pharisees and the religious leaders God’s heart and pursuit of the lost, and rhetorically asking them if they will do the same.
