In December 2020, four pastors began a church with a simple, shared vision: the Gospel is a story about family.
It's a story about how Jesus invites us into our true family, unites us all as brothers and sisters, redeems relationships across our earthly families, compels us to invite people into this family, and gives us a vision of our ultimate family reunion in the new heaven and new earth.
With this in their minds and in their hearts, these pastors prayed and planned; they sought wisdom, support, and help to begin Coastline in backyards, over Zoom, and everywhere in between. It wasn't always easy. It wasn't always glamorous. But then again., when is family ever those things?
There were Launch Teams, livestreams, pre-taped services, socially-distanced meetings, and sporadic events until Easter 2021, when Coastline met in person at a local high school. Over 500 people came and saw the vision of family lived out as we celebrated the resurrection of our Savior and the birth of a new church. From that point on it was clear: God is doing good things at Coastline.
